mb-assistant
A private assistant for one person's own Gmail and Google Calendar accounts.
What mb-assistant is
mb-assistant is a cloud-hosted personal assistant built and operated by Sam Al-Harbi for his own use. It connects to his own Google accounts, reads Gmail and Google Calendar, and prepares work for him: a morning brief and evening recap, inbox triage, reply drafts, scheduling suggestions and reminders. It is not offered to the public and has no other users.
How it behaves
- It asks before anything leaves. Anything another person would see (an email, a calendar invitation) is proposed to the operator by email and sent only after he approves that exact message. There are no standing approvals.
- Quiet actions stay private. Saving a Gmail draft, placing a calendar hold with no invitees, or creating a task for the operator needs no approval because nobody else sees it.
- Several accounts, one view. The operator may connect more than one of his own Google accounts so meetings and mail are consolidated in one brief. Each account is authorized separately and can be disconnected separately.
Google data it uses
mb-assistant requests the Gmail read-only scope today. Calendar read and event scopes and the Gmail compose scope are planned for later phases. What is read, how it is processed and stored, how long it is kept and how access is revoked are described in the Privacy Policy.
Status
mb-assistant is in development. Its Google OAuth app is in Testing and no Google data is processed in production as of the date below.
